Cultural appropriation is a way for people around the world to create new versions of things we love such as new music, movies or clothing's.
This phrase is often used in place of Cultural Appreciation when individuals wanted to cancel others or divide society for their own agendas since , without knowledge of the real definition, cultural appropriation sounds more offensive than cultural appreciation. "How dare you appreciate my culture!" does not sound offensive and most people will enjoy, encourage, and feel loved by others appreciation their culture.
This is one of the words people like to add "often to a minority by a majority" to fit the trends of modern society.

Korean's display much Cultural Appropriation by using much of western's society's culture of media, clothing, tv series into their own adaptation to create K-pop, Karama's, etc and share it with the world. In return the world is very happy.

Something that white people came up with because they have nothing better to complain about even though minorities like myself literally couldnt care less
Person: (wears something related to another culture)
White social justice warrior: OMG CULTURAL APPROPRIATION
Person from that culture: Oh that’s nice I like to see other people trying things from my culture in order to break the divide between our cultures

When a person takes something with cultural significance from another culture for their own, but doesn't respect or understand the cultural significance the something has. Instead they only claim to 'like' the culture because of what they can gain from it.
Eg:
White kid 1: Ugh, Indians have such stupid customs and shit.
White kid 2: Yeah OMG!
Later
White kid 1: OMG Bindis are so cool! I love Indians! I'm all for Hindu or whateverr
Indian kid: wtf cultural appropriation much.

The adoption or use of elements of one culture by members of a different culture. Many people mistake cultural appropriation with Cultural Appreciation. As there is a difference between taking the time to learn about a culture and taking a culture's traditions, clothing etc. and misrepresenting them.
Cultural Appropriation: Wearing a Native American costume is offensive because the clothing in that culture is very sacred
Cultural Appreciation: Taking some time to learn about Native American culture (traditional dances, clothing, foods etc.)
Not to mention some cultures have a dark history attached to them and they still face present-day issues.
So if you truly want to embrace a culture, then do a bit of research on the culture and do it properly.

Cultural appropriation were first used by Black Americans to negate White Americans from stealing their culture and making it fashion among themselves; especially, without giving credit where credit was due. The reason why Black Americans call White Americans out on this is because America has a nasty history with slavery, stealing the land, civil rights, and so on. Moreover, Black Americans suffered the most and were made fun of through minstrel shows and lynching. Hence the reason why Black Americans used cultural appropriation against White Americans.
Black Americans may also used this terms against other ethnicities because sometimes other ethnic groups may not be aware or ignorant to Black Americans' history.

Example 1 Cultural Misappropriation:
White Person: What are those nasty looking things in your hair?
Black Person: They are called dreadlocks.
White person: Do you wash them?
Black Person: Of course it's my hair (DumbAss).
Example 2 Cultural Appropriation:
White person: Wow, what are those in your hair? It so unique!
White person: Oh, they are called dreadlocks.
White person: Wow, I want some too!

One of the best ways to divide us humans even further, by telling to ourselves that sharing cultures is a threat to a nation, even with the reality that all cultures must be welcoming what other cultures can offer for mutual growth.
If you believe a white man for example can not be inspired by cultures made by blacks/yellows/whatever just because his skin is white, you are a threat to the survival of culture itself, as assimilating good values of other cultures to improve yours and sharing your good values to those interested as well is vital to humanity's growth as a whole.

Dylan, A Filipino born in the US: Yes! It is not appropriate! Salakot is for Filipinos only! *takes it from the white guy*
Sean, the white guy: WTF!
Teodoro, a Filipino from the Philippines: *grabs the salakot from Dylan and gives it back to Sean* What are you guys talking about? It's fine! Nothing's wrong with a white guy wearing our creations, as it promotes and shows the capability of Filipino weavers, idiot! Also, it's art, and art must be shared, bobo!
Dylan: *confused on what bobo means*
