Choppage is another term for Drumfunk, a subsection of Drum & Bass. See also edits and Drumfunk. The Drumfunk sound is characterised by a deep concentration on electronically 'chopping' and rearranging breaks in jazzy and interesting ways. The rarer the break the better. The emphasis is placed on production work and crate-digging. Back in the day it was used to refer to the Thompson gun, but with urban violence rising and AR-15 and AK-47 plataforms becoming more acessible, AR Pistols and Dracos started to be used a lot by gangs, in order to have a great amount of stopping power in a submachine gun sized weapon, what made them "perfect" for small territory defense and drive by shootings, activities heavily practiced by those gangs. With these rifle caliber pistols becoming more common, the term "Choppa" gradually became used for all kinda guns used for gang activities, including those who are not SBR's neither AR/AK pistols/SMG's, even these last are the first thought majority of people have when they hear the word "Choppa".
