An Afro-American; most often homeless or ghetto who perches outside a place of business begging for change or selling small trinkets found in the dumpster.

sick bird

adj. Something that is illegal. Derived from the aforementioned word to form 'ill-eagle', then using synonyms, ie. 'sick' for 'ill' and 'bird' for 'eagle'.

Yellow Bird 

A signal or warning. Miners used to bring yellow birds (canaries) in the mines with them to detect poisonous gases. The birds had more delicate systems than the miners so when the birds got sick or died the miners knew there were poisonous gasses and they had to get out of there.
