A statement said in reference to a female that was previously hot but currently is not, possibly due to intoxication or simply by letting herself go.

Your friend introduces you to a girl at the club and says, "Yo bro, this is Stacy, the chick from high school." After politely saying "hello," you turn to your homeboy and say, "There is no Dana, only Zuul."

Alternatively, the phrase can be used as a literal absence of a physical location.

Bush and Cheney keep screaming about a link between Iraq and al Queda, but there's no there there.

a phrase used whenever you see someone who can be classified as a "there he is". if you say there he is and the person you are with doesn't know who you are talking about then the person probably isnt a there he is.
