Commonly mistaken as a misspelled result of the word "offer" it actually is a very specific offering that was originated by the ancient Gaul barbarians, although through internet networking it has recently regained common usage, especially through french pornographic websites.

It is the offer of a body part in exchange for a chance at a holy after life or in some cases a nice new home, weapon, horse ect. The belly button area was considered of high value in particular.

Joe- Yo dawg, you still down with that pffer?

Sally- I dunno.. I should ask my parents.

Joe- Naww, the belly button only gets used when you'sa baby.
