masterpiece

An opinion of a piece of art or media that in fact is not a masterpiece. Commonly used by zoomers who have never witnessed music being played, or art being displayed, for its own sake; the usual being a commercial or AMV (anime music video) where all parts are b-rate but somehow convince the viewer of its greatness. Also very often used in epic video game soundtracks (and often with violence or mindless displays of anger overlaid), by those who don't have the attention spans to listen to actual classical music. Books have thus far almost completely avoided the masterpiece-trap, because they require higher than average levels of attention and discernment to progress through.
