A system of government created by the Greeks (Greek Democracy = Direct Democracy.) In this type of Democracy, free men, who were not foreign-born, were allowed to gather and discuss issues they then voted on. Direct Democracy is much more efficient for small groups of people.
Indirect Democracy began in the Roman Republic, which followed the idea of representatives in government and introduced the separation of powers. The Judicial branch dominated by Patricians, and the Legislative by Plebeians. Indirect Democracy is efficient for large groups of people.
Democracy alone is fucking stupid. Lmao.
Say that a state was voting on whether to ban grape or strawberry jam. The strawberry has seeds and is sour; however, the grape has a greater jello constancy and spreads thicker.
"I prefer the former."
" I prefer the latter."
Some may leave it at that. Preferring the jam with seeds or without. However, one would also have to ponder the importance of such a matter. Why do we need either jam? Or why is this a concern? It is just a spread. Is there any other substitute for jam that is easier to obtain? How will this affect the animals or insects which feast on the fruit? The soil that relies on its rot? For the grass that cows feed? Who proposed this bill? Why are they doing this?
I think many people would leave it as just “grape is better, strawberry is better and the majority gets to determine what flavor you can or can not eat. They will justify it as “fair and democratic.”

Democracy is a sensitive system; it allows for easy corruption. Mainly human impulsion, which was stressed by the greek philosopher, Plato.
