Dark academia is the unofficial term for a genre of fiction with stories that revolve around an academic campus. In literature, it’s recognized with the title campus or academic novel. Film has no term for it yet.
Dark academia works contain elements of satire, tragedy, and philosophy. They tend to promote humanities and liberal arts as passions for their protagonists to pursue. Since dark academia centers around an academic environment with young adults, most of the stories are coming-of-age.
Dark academia criticizes static social attitudes by encouraging new and unique social perspectives represented with its protagonists. Simultaneously, the genre emphasizes how students never truly get prepared for the turbulent reality they face outside their campus, despite a school’s claims to do so.

With overpriced food(pizza is mad out of cardboard, Pasta is 95% water.) there are a few good teachers but most just teach you rubbish. The head cares more about your uniform than your education and will send you home for showing an inch of a anchel. Every now and again someone phones up claiming that there’s a bomb and the whole place has to shut down for a couple hours while the police search it. Full of Newcastle fans and a couple Sunderland fans, with a few Man Utd fans dotted about as well. ex-pe teacher / now assistant director has made it his life’s mission to get everyone to go to lessons every morning before the bell goes. Highlights include fire drills, substitute teachers and going home.

Get the Consett academy mug.Doral Academy Middle School makes you wanna die. There is too much homework, rude and annoying teachers, and annoying admin. The teachers give you a Saturday school or detention for no reason and you can’t do anything without getting in trouble. Each year that you are at DAMS you loose more and more brain cells and this school does not prepare you for a future but more for depression.... :)
