It's THE adjective. "Filipino" is a proper noun, "philippine" is its adjective. It's common misconception to use "filipino" as adjective and instead of "philippine".

A very malnourished boy. Philip's typically are HUGE Diary of a Wimpy kid fans, and will do anything to get the attention of Jeff Kinney (the author of the franchise). He is not afraid to kill his family and friends to get any Diary of Wimpy Kid merchandise. In Fact I refused to give a Philip my Diary of Wimpy Kid Dog Days movie poster, and now he is after me.
