noodles through a goose

Something moving very fast.
Chinese farmers feed a noodle with a string attached to a goose. It passes through the goose non-stop. Then they feed the noodle to the next goose...and the next...and so on. After the last goose, they tie the string to a stick. Then they can walk a string of geese to market.

That beer went through me like noodles through a goose.

Similar to the subway of unconsciousness and the airplane of logic, the train of thought is used to casually describe one's thought process. It is usually lost, sometimes derailed, frequently hijacked, and has been known to reverse course. Also, the train of thought is never stated to have a beginning or an end, and it is unknown whether there are any passengers on board.

Tough Old Broad

Due to a woman's hips being wider than a mans, in the olden days they were referred to as broads. A tough old broad is an older woman who has seen the hardships throughout history (wars, depressions, the birth of Ryan Seacrest etc) an has kept on keeping on, despite all odds. She can chew up a tin can and spit out fishing hooks if she feels like it.

Check out that tough old broad, she must be like 80 but she just handknitted a shotgun and killed that mugger.
