the blame game

It's accusations exchanged among people who refuse to accept sole responsibility for some undesirable event - both in daily conversations as well as discussions regarding sports, politics, etc.
It can be a way to avoid shame, distrust or minor sentiments of agony.

Person A: "Why did you eat my lunch?"
Person B: "I didn't do it - (Person C) did it!"
Person C: "No I didn't - You ate his lunch right in front of me!"
Person A: "Come on (Person B), don't play the blame game".

somebody that holds the persona of "not being of blame" ,when infact they are the instigator that has manufactured the whole debacle.

Weak manipulation.

somebody that informs the boss that the coffee,(etc) has been stolen, when they themselves are the thief.

Therefore they are "blameless"
