A person who isn't super popular or with the "in crowd". But not a bottom scrubber with the losers at the bottom of the social pyramid

Mike, Dave, Liam, and Barry are not cool enough to be with the cool kids but not a bottom scrubber like the geeky anime/emo/gamer lot. They are the inbetweener people.
