people with AirPods (usually) want to flex on the common, lowly peasant without AirPods, so they say this. it's often followed by "in here".
tim: *walks in, obnoxiously flexes new AirPods* hey, it smells like broke in here.
bob: *shouts* what? i can't hear you over my AirPods.
bob: *removes AirPods, he wasn't lying*
tim: *walks out*
