It's a bill that is suppose to combat theft of U.S. property but,
this bill makes unauthorized streaming of copyrighted content a severe crime and this will stop search engines from linking to any sites where a person can access unauthorized streaming of copyrighted material. Currently, protests and petitions are spreading around the world to stop this Act.
This act clearly violates the U.S. right to the First Ammendment, Freedom of Speech. SOPA is attacking the most popular search engines and social sites causing what we call "blackouts" across the internet.
In a smaller amount of words, SOPA is Censorship.
SOPA is also closely related to the PIPAct that was recently passed.
