It's when you want to cry so loud and so much that nothing comes out and all you have is tears running down your face with your mouth open trying to scream but it's nothing but silence so nobody can hear you.
Karen got into a fight with her parents and ran up to her room and closed the door. She started to mute cry so her parents won't hear her and come up to her room.
