I was harassed by an irony of hipsters outside of the Apple store for using an Android phone.

A large group of narrow-minded, usually internet dwelling people who attack anyone whose use of the term irony doesn't conform to their rigid, overly specific definition of it.

Irony Police Officer: "Alanis Morissette doesn't know what irony is!! Duhhh, rain on your wedding day's just unfortunate!!

Some Guy: But don't people expect their wedding day to be perfect, the ultimate good day? And doesn't rain symbolize a bad or imperfect day? And so wouldn't bad weather on a wedding day be an unexpected outcome, and therefore ironic?

Irony Police officer: Uhh... No, I once saw this stand-up comedian, and he said the events described in that song were unfortunate. Stand-up comedians are always right.

Irony Nazi

Someone who scans every use of the word irony, and if it doesn't rigidly adhere to Ed Byrne's definition of situational irony, he proceeds to attack, often reciting Byrne's stand up act. See also irony police.

Some guy: "Poor Chuck Norris's fans only appreciate him ironically nowadays..."
Irony Nazi: "Hey! That's not ironic, that's just unfortunate!!"
Some guy: "Wha?"
Irony Nazi: "Irony is when there's a gap between what happens and what was expected to happen!"
Some guy:"No, that's verbal irony..."
