soft alternative

An alternative rock genre that's quieter than normal alternative rock. Kind of like Hard Alternative(or Alternative Metal) that's louder than normal Alternative rock. Bands like Bastille, Mumford and Sons and Bleachers. Soft Alternative generally leans more toward folk rock, synthpop, new wave and pop rock than hard rock and metal like Hard Alternative.

Soft Alternative is really popular in the 2010's.

Is an alternative elementary school in Toronto. filled with lots of fun down to earth kids. the teachers are amazing and funny! its a incredibly small school that usually gets picked on for no reason. but overall a decent school.

Someone or something that goes against the mainstream and classification. An alternative person cannot be grouped as emo, punk, goth, prep, hippie, nerd, or any other stereotypical group.
Also refers to music. Alternative music is not part of any other genre. Therefore, it cannot be called grunge, punk, metal, pop , etc. Most alternative bands are indie.

Alternative band include: The Killers, Kaiser Chiefs, Bloc Party, Snow Patrol, the Postal Service, Rage Against the Machine.
Antonyms: Green Day, the Spice Girls, Killswitch Engage, etc.

Comedy that is popular amongst students. Sometimes is very avant-garde and ususally not funny at all.

Crap comedian "Is it me, or do all pensioners stink of piss?"

Student louts "Ha!!!!! He's so funny!!" "Now THAT'S alternative comedy at it's finest!"

Normal person "Jesus christ"
