A new cryptocurrency term for "deactivated".

When individuals who work for crypto companies were let go when a crypto crash happens, their company Slack accounts would get deactivated, leaving a dead account with a recoloured profile picture.

While people who are still with the company are so scared that they avoid using the word "deactivated" and change it to "da-ed", and therefore "daed".

Coincidentally, you could also consider "daed" as "dead".

You: Hey bro! I saw in the news your company fired 5% of its workforce. You alright?
Your Friend: I'm still fine. But you know what, the daed count suggested a higher percentage... LOL
