This is term for when you are in a really good mood and you or someone else says something that ruins it. Thereby separating your smile or breaking your happiness apart.

As Ian began to feel even more excited about himself and his future, his mother reminded him of past failures and potential future ones. Separations clause part 4

States subject to the terms of service must maintain their arms (upto and including nuclear weapons) by any means necessary. No attempt can be made to remove the AI from your system. The AI cannot be separated from your weapons at any time.
