Champagne activist (noun): A person who publicly expresses support for a cause or movement, typically by raising a glass of champagne or making a toast, but who does not take any meaningful or sustained action to advance the cause. Also known as Slackatism.
"After toasting to the latest social justice cause with a glass of bubbly, the champagne activist promptly returned to their privileged bubble without doing anything to address the root issues."

An “activist” who’s only form of activism and gathering of information are through infographics that just often pop up in their feed or are shared by their friends. A performative activist, if you will.
A lot of infographic activists were sharing infographics of the “#letearthbreath” movement but stopped after only a week and never spoke of it again.

When a group or organisation is infiltrated by those representing minority interests in such a way that they gain significant influence or control and then use this to push their desired agenda.
Activist capture is usually a deliberate process initiated by outsiders of the group or organisation. Tactics include: *Making demands for representation, often citing a lack thereof
*Calls for allyships
*Forming of a bloc that is used to drown out individual members and amplify their own voices
* Liberal use and accusations of "isms" and "phobias" designed to force compliance through fear
*Threats or intimidation if the above doesn't work
Activist capture is a strategy used when it is highly unlikely that a brand new group representing activist interests will gain anywhere near the power or influence of the existing one.
