Zoloft Withdrawal

Strange head sensations, AKA "brain zaps", which is like an electrical current that you can actually see for a split second as it shoots thru your poor unsuspecting brain. Yucky nausea sensation, regardless if you eat or not, kind of like your seasick with a feeling of labored breathing. Just an uncomfortable malaise feeling from head to toe. Trouble sleeping, or not sleeping as sound as when you were taking the drug. Body aches from head to toe. Weird, vivid, violent dreams so scary they wake you up, and then you wonder to yourself, "what the heck was that?" as your trying to catch your breath and come to your senses. A feeling of "this is all hopeless" and starting, or wanting to tear up. Symptoms usually starts within 24 hours or sooner if you stop your dosage cold turkey. Not as bad if trying to taper off slowly, however you may still feel strange at times. Apparently these are signs you really do need the drug...?
Geez, I told my doctor about my crazy Zoloft withdrawal symptoms while trying to go off of it, and she calmly in a condesending way without looking at me asks, "why go off of it?".

Since I feel fine while on it, and it did help me, I've decided I'm a lifer; can't do those freaky withdrawals NO MORE dude...!

Rice Withdrawal

A person with rice withdrawal has stopped eating rice for a prolonged period of time such as a 3-5 days. Rice withdrawal occurs because the body and mind is physically dependent on rice. When rice consumption is stopped, the body craves rice to achieve a state of normalcy. Rice withdrawal is most prevalent in people from cultures and ethnicies in which rice is a significnt portion of their diet.

Symptoms of rice withdrawal are different for everyone. They include but are not limited to dizziness, headache, dry mouth, amnesia, vomiting, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, irritability, insomnia and craving of rice based cuisines, such as Chinese take-out.

The only known cure for rice withdrawal is eating rice.
Mark: What are you craving for dinner tonight?
Sara: Pizza or Chinese food...
Mark: Let's do Chinese...I'm having major rice withdrawal!

Mark: Why do you look so sad?
Marissa: I'm hungry and have had a long week.
Mark: When was the last time you ate rice?
Marissa: Last week
Mark: I think you are suffering from rice withdrawal, where is the nearest PeiWei?!?

Clinical Renewal Withdrawal Syndrome (CRWS)

Marked by significant psychological distress, Clinical Renewal Withdrawal Syndrome (CRWS) is a generalized psychiatric disorder classified under the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV) as an "Adjustment Disorder with Mixed Anxiety and Depressed Mood."

Overview:
CRWS occurs in persons with insatiable desires to play competitive video games online. These addicts usually play with a relatively consistent group of players or friends. CRWS occurs when a player loses a member of his/her group of typical teammates - leading to maladaptive behavior.

Symptoms:
Often the patient will exhibit agitated and aggressive behavior, involuntary finger compulsions and eye twitching (believed to be simulating that of gameplay), loss of appetite, and mental confusion. The later is believed to be a direct result of the loss of a leader figure. Consequently, it is not uncommon for a CRWS sufferer to become inappropriately attached to any person(s) viewed as an authority figure (e.g. law enforcement officers, teachers, coaches). Until recently, CRWS has not been observed in a clinical setting. Research done in early 2009 by Barry A. Kraiggen, M.D., Ph.D. showed that a decline in academic work is correlated with CRWS in a staggering 96.2% of cases.

Treatment/Prognosis
Further research is needed to confidently prescribe a definitive method of treatment for CRWS sufferers. However, independent trials are being run by Dr. Erin B. Olivander, and Jakob O. Keetings, Ed.D at the DEBO clinic. Initial findings suggest that the return of the sufferer to his/her game routine will immediately dissolve the condition. Pharmaceuticals (including: benzodiazepines, SSRIs, and atypical antidepressants) are found to be less than optimal in reducing anxiety in CRWS patients (with the exception of mirtazapine). The research being done at the DEBO clinic is still in its infancy stages, and additional material on the subject will likely not be released until the spring of 2010.
