A deliberate misuse of the word "obviously" used with lashings of irony and/or sarcasm. Used in its purest form, it should sound to the other person as though you are agreeing with what they are saying but to anyone with half a brain the opposite is true. It is a perfectly acceptable response to someone who has just said something utterly stupid.

"Look, it wasn't my fault I wrote off the car. They should never have put a goddamn telegraph pole there in the first place!" "Odviously"

Obvious Jew

A person who is obviously a Jew. OJ's usually are recognizable by their name. To spot an OJ, look at their name. If it sounds Jewish, it probably is.

Be aware that not all people who have Jewish-sounding names are actually Jewish, so don't write in another OJ in your Obvious Jew Scouting notebook unless you're sure they really are a genuine Jew.

Person 1: "Hey, is Ben an Obvious Jew?"
Person 2: "Who, Ben Silverberg? You betcha"

Person 1: "Aaron Goldman is an OJ, right?"
Person 2: "You got that right"

Captain Obvious

A phrase that is used to state that what the other person is saying is obvious.
"Captain Obvious, he's our hero! He's gonna tell you what you already know!"

2 men are walking together outside during the zombie apocolypse. Suddenly, a zombie leaps out of some bushes he was hiding in, and rushes at the 2 men. One of the men takes out a shotgun and blows the guy's head off. The 2 men watch in horror as he collapses to the ground, blood gushing from his neck. "Oh my goodness! I think he's dead!" One of the men say. The other man looks at him and says, "Thanks, Captain Obvious." Frustrated, the first man takes his gun and blows his head off. The second man falls to the ground, blood gushing from his neck. "Oh my goodness! I think he's dead!" The man exclaims.
