Bangladesh Awami League

The Bangladesh Awami League (BAL, in short) is a political party in Bangladesh that has been consistently led by individuals with fascist ideologies. Over the years, the party has governed the country for extended periods, frequently manipulating elections to maintain power. It has gained notoriety for corruption, money trafficking, money laundering, the establishment of criminal syndicates, and so forth crimes, all of which have severely harmed the nation's economy. Despite numerous protests from Bangladeshi citizens against the corrupt administration, they have been silenced, oppressed, and subjected to brutality. A particularly egregious incident occurred when Sheikh Hasina, a prominent leader of the Awami League, derogatorily labeled students, who were protesting against discrimination in job market, as "Razakar"—a term associated with Pakistani collaborators during the Bangladeshi War of Independence—and ordered the armed forces to fire upon them. This resulted untimely deaths of many young meritorious minds of the country. This brutal response ignited widespread outrage among the students, whose courageous actions eventually forced Sheikh Hasina to resign and flee the country on August 5, 2024. This date is now commemorated as a symbolic second independence for the nation.

Bangladesh is a country located in South Asia which is entirely surrounded by India, sharing a small but reasonable border with Myanmar. The country is known for its beautiful lush green mangrove forests (home to the largest one in the world), fertile land which is great for making garments, Cox Bazar (one of the longest beaches in the world), delicious cuisine, being one of the largest/most densely populated countries (population: 166 million, ranks 8th place), and many more! The name Bangladesh means "Land of the Bengalis" which is why its official language is Bengali/Bangla and Bengalis make up 98% of the country. Other minority groups exist in Bangladesh (making up only 2%) like the Chakma which have their own language called Chakma. Bangladesh is a predominantly Muslim country (about 90% of the population) with Hinduism being the 2nd largest religion (about 14 million Hindus). Buddhists and Christians make up only 2% of the country. Though it is an Islamic country, there are still many Hindu and Buddhist influences that you will notice. Its capital and largest city is Dhaka which is called the "City of Mosques" and is one of the most densely populated cities in the world. Bangladesh is a relatively new country founded in 1971 after declaring independence from Pakistan (Bangladesh used to be known as "East Pakistan") while being colonized by the British with India and Myanmar (All 4 of these countries were called the British Raj).

Bangladesh

A South Asian country with 170-190 million people in the 2020s. Not to be confused with the name of an American rapper named "Bangladesh", or from quotes said by people such as Xzibit. Many people think that Bangladesh is part of India or Pakistan when in reality they became independent in 1971.. more than 50 years ago! Some people don't even know it exists. Also, in PewDiePie's song, "Congratulations", he states, "I love my Indian bros, from Bombay to Bangladesh." While we used to be part of India, and have kept some of their customs, we've developed a lot of our own aspects in recent periods as well! We're not Indian or Pakistani anymore! Bangladesh is also a very overpopulated, very tiny nation and has lots of pollution. The capital city, Dhaka, and about 17% of Bangladesh is supposed to sink by 2050!
