Pacific Palisades

A place in Western Los Angeles along the West Coast. The Palisades are home to rich people (literal millionaires) which burned down at the beginning of 2025 as a result of a formidable, unforgiving fire fueled by Santa Ana Winds, reaching up to 100+ mph (hurricane level!) and harshly dry weather conditions. Within 4 or 5 days, the Palisades fire managed to burn down over 20K acres of mountainous land and vegetation, with several thousands of those rich people's homes being destroyed.

The Pacific Palisades fire is estimated to be the costliest in US history, estimated to exceed more than $150 billion in damage. Construction and repairs may take anywhere from a couple months to even one year.

Meow Playground

A video game featuring anthropomorphic pet characters (and animals in general, most of them aren't dogs or cats) or furries, whatever you want to call them. Hang out with real players and make online friends from across the world! You can play games to earn gaming score, join clowders (teams in Meow Playground, "clowder" literally means a group of cats), dig around, fish, and do many more things! However, the game may get boring after a while, as the game isn't very popular (it reaches 2,000 daily users at its peak as of 2024, but throughout a 24-hour period as opposed to that many players at once), the game can lag with many players, and it's a pretty small place with not enough space (there are no "multiple servers" at the moment, sadly) for thousands of players at a time to be on in just a few minutes. Hopefully, the founder, Grumpy Mayor, can try to fix these things eventually if the game ever becomes popular (I doubt it will).

The Chainsmokers

A mediocre EDM duo consisting of two American music "artists and DJs". Despite being considered EDM by many, several of their songs sound too much like mainstream pop and are very repetitive. If you listen to their popular songs like Closer, Don't Let Me Down, etc. you'll see what I mean. They only have a few sounds that I would actually consider bangers.

Friend: Are you going to The Chainsmokers' concert tonight?
Me: No, they just use the rinse-repeat method in their music.

Homework

Work that you are typically required to do by an instructor at a school. Can also be used as an acronym meaning "Half of My Energy Wasted on Random Knowledge". Unless someone needs genuine practice or wants to hone their knowledge and is fast enough to complete work, homework is often seen as a waste of time. Sometimes, people are better off just reviewing their classwork for tests and studying or just coming up with their own problems. On the other hand, homework helps people maintain their balance of practice and is linked to higher student achievement.

Me: I don't like doing homework, but I still do it anyway.
