Administrivia

Contraction of Administration and Trivia

When having to complete forms in triplicate sign with your own blood, merely to borrow a pen, so that one can complete a form of little if any significance to the pen lender. Any small insignificant task involving paper work, without which the world would surely end.
Thanks to the administrivia my 'change of address' form was sent to the wrong address.

I'll do it myself to save being harrasseled by administrivia

administrategy

Term used to describe the plans of executive office of the United States. Most recently in Bush's Iraq progress report on 7/13/07.

Coined by President George W. Bush
"I'm gonna explain why the success of this administrategy is vital for protecting our people and bringing our troops home..."

I don't think anyone agrees with Bush's administrategy.

Administriction

The fuzzy-edged bureaucracy that complexifies and restricts every interaction between citizen and government, or indeed between any entities within any hierarchy, organisation, network or concept related thereto.
"Heeeey, how are you?"

"Hey! Good, mate, yourself? Did you get your paperwork yet?"

"Man, I'm telling you: I've queued, added all up, in the last three weeks, for seventeen hours. I've been sent from public office to public office, to gather increasing amounts of paper with my photos attached to them, smudged with stamps by angry, fast-talking Catalan women who don't like guiris, only begrudgingly performing her function when she's assured herself that I carry three (3) certified copies of every form I've accumulated so far! But do you think I'm through the Spanish administriction yet?"

"Uh.. I'm guessing no?"

Administrative Lip

Most often used in the college setting around class registration time. When the hassle of administrative work becomes unbearable, the only solution is saying "fuck it" and packing an enormous lip of smokeless tobacco.
Henry: "Dude they keep saying that my password is incorrect and when I try to get my password hint they won't give it to me"

James: "That sucks bro. I got my skoal peach right here go ahead and grab an administrative lip."

Administrative law

The branch of law which deals with the powers and procedures of government agencies. In the United States and many other countries, this includes rulemaking (the manner in which agencies enact regulations), adjudication (the manner in which agencies resolve disputes over agencies' actions), enforcement of regulatory policy, and many issues related to due process.

Administrative law is closely related to constitutional law in that it often deals with what powers the government has and doesn't have, and in what manner government agencies may carry out the power delegated to them by the legislature.

The regulations crafted by rulemaking processes are often extremely complex, and frequently directly refer to specific scientific, technical, and financial standards (such as parts per million/billion of pollution, safety measures for certain activities, and accounting/financial reporting procedures).
Constitutional law teaches you how government is supposed to work, in theory. Administrative law, on the other hand, teaches you how it actually works, in practice.
