The Kentucky Plug

1. The practice of inserting one's thumb into a wound or orifice to apply pressure and stop bleeding or loss of other bodily fluids.

This was most famously use by Scott DeShields Jr. of the YouTube channel Kentucky Ballistics, when he suffered a jugular perforation while filming a video. To prevent bleeding out, he preformed The Kentucky Plug while being rushed to the hospital

2. The term also refers to the practice of inserting a thumb into the vagina after insemination to prevent the loss of semen and ensuring pregnancy.

Also named in honor of family man and Youtuber Scott DeShields Jr.
