Fenn value

An artificial inflated value put on an item from Forrest Fenns treasure chest, that was bought at auction impulsively and emotionally due to one’s obsessive behavior during the active Fenn treasure hunt. Such value only holds true in an exchange or sale with another emotionally obsessed Fenn searcher.
Pawn shop owner: yeah man, gold is worth 150$ a gram. I’m not paying you 1400$ dollars extra in Fenn value when Fenn was still alive when his hunt ended. Plus, you don’t even have a certified solution to his puzzle.

core values

This is a new version of the phrase mission statement. These are normally vague and cheesy goals/objectives that cannot be measured.

It's similar in principle to family values but not quite as sinister.
"Our core values are respect, development, empowerment and truthiness"

i.e. we really like these words, they sound great but we sure as hell aren't going to stop selling landmines to rebel armies in Africa.

resale value

When you discover you're disappointed with the car you just bought, this is the amount of money you can expect to recover when reselling it.

If you borrowed money to buy this car, cars with low resale values can put you "Upside down," meaning you will owe more for the car than what you can expect to get for it. Cars with a high resale value will allow you to pay down your remaining loan.

Generally speaking, one doesn't normally need to worry about resale value unless they bought a car because they believed it would suddenly make them "cool."
"I bought a Honda Civic because I thought it would make me cool; but that didn't work. Luckily, it has a high resale value, so I can get rid of it and buy something better."

Literary Value

1) A meaningless phrase that English teachers like to throw around to prevent students from doing book reports on anything worth reading.

2) A phrase that means that something is worthless, meaningless, or a lie.
1) "Of course you can't read Harry Potter for your book report, it has absolutely no literary value."

2) "She told me she's never had sex before."
"Dude, that's got no literary value."
