A splinter group of leftists reacting in response to the formation and perceived liberal nature of BreadTube, the community generally known as TreadTube distinguishes itself for its authoritarian Marxist-Leninist leaning, which is often associated with the idiosyncratic term "tankie" on the internet.
Whereas BreadTube tends to emphasize and promote the practical aspects of socialist beliefs, such as decommodification and workplace democracy, TreadTube's focus tends to be on the acclamation of prior and current self-identified socialist states, most notably China and the former USSR but also Venezuela, North Korea and, to a lesser extent, Cuba and Vietnam.
Notable examples of TreadTubers would include Hakim, LunaOi and Bay Area415.

"Ugh, I'm so tired of listening to all these radlibs on the online left, TreadTube is the only part of YouTube that's truly standing up to the global influence of American imperialism!"
"While TreadTubers can sometimes raise valid points about the influence of anti-communist propaganda in the west, their enthusiastic support for repressive totalitarian states seems ultimately determinantal to the promotion of socialist and progressive values."

Get the TreadTube mug.thefakesoundofprogress is the debut album from the Welsh rock band lostprophets. Released in 2000, it was recorded in one week for around £6000, & while originally intended as a demo went on to be released on Visible Noise Records. When the band signed to Columbia Records in 2001 it was partly re-recorded, remixed & re-released (notably combining many of the between track interludes into the end of songs, shortening the tracklisting) much to the chagrin of fans of the earlier release. This new version was released under Visible Noise in the UK. It includes the singles "Shinobi vs. Dragon Ninja" and "The Fake Sound of Progress".
Often seen as the heaviest of the first three lostprophets albums, many fans regard thefakesoundofprogress as the band's best effort to date.

n. The effect that occurs shortly after finishing a treadmill workout, in which, after running in place for a long period of time, walking on static ground gives the sensation that you're body is moving twice as fast as you're walking. Often causes sufferer to walk abnormally slow or, in hilarious cases, fall down. Usually experienced by those who do not use a treadmill often.
After using the treadmill for an hour, Jack had a treadmill high and, in an attempt to slow down, stumbled on his way to the locker room.

Get the Treadmill High mug.Person who watches television while working out at home on a treadmill, on the base of a rating system in which tv shows get labeled as "worth watching from the couch" or "can totally be seen during exercise".
The tv shows belonging to this last category are watched just to keep track of the story while waiting for the occasional good episode that justifies remaining attached to a series that outrunned it's original concept, or for that one-per-episode cool computer graphic effect. They can be followed just fine by listening and looking at the screen every 5 seconds or so. In the case of movies, they usually are cheap B movies often downloaded from the internet or rented by mistake.
The key concept of this activity is multitasking, originating from the fact that:
a) one has not enough couch-time to watch tv from a sitting position
b) one lacks the determination to stay put and watch a now boring show just to see how it ends
c) one wants something to distract him from the pains of fat-burning.
