SCUD

Throwing a dart {usually in the game of cricket} that doesn't hit its intended target but usually something of lesser value. During the Persian Gulf War , Iraqis would fire off a missile called a SCUD at their enemy, It almost always seemed to miss it's target but would hit an unintended target close by causing their enemy or civilians collateral damage.

I was aiming at triple 18's but threw a SCUD and hit a single 16, it's better than nothing.
