Puritanism
(noun) – 2025 far-right ideology.
The absolute, zero-compromise belief that modern society is terminally poisoned by degeneracy and the only cure is its total, ruthless eradication followed by the building of a pure, ordered, high-trust civilisation built on strength, family, faith, and blood.
Puritanism is the uncompromising ideology that stands on the Seven Pillars of Purity alone. Everything we believe, everything we demand, and everything we are willing to do flows directly from these seven non-negotiable foundations:
1. Purity of Blood – No invaders, no replacement, borders as iron walls.
2. Purity of Body – No porn, no mutilation, no child transition, no weakness.
3. Purity of Family – Man and woman, mothers honoured, fathers restored, 3 children the minimum.
4. Purity of Law – Death for pedophiles and traitors, execution, one law, iron order.
5. Purity of Faith – Christian moral order, mosques closed, sharia banned.
6. Purity of Economy – Usury is sin, debt jubilee, homes for families, not parasites.
7. Purity of Will – Strength worshipped, weakness punished, loyalty absolute.
If it does not serve one of these pillars, it is not Puritanism.

Get the Puritanism mug.A phenomenon wherein self-described leftwing, queer, and LGBT "allies" condemn and demonize heterosexual fan service for normal people while maintaining explicit double standards for homosexual, trans, and female-oriented fanservice. Such individuals will often engage in gaslighting tactics, equating physically attractive female characters to pornography or maintain that ugly female characters are better because of "realism", even in otherwise fantastical settings and despite the fact that much of fiction is meant to be a form of escapism. This is a bizarro mirror image of conservative Christian puritanism that such groups often found themselves opposed to in previous decades when they campaigned for sexual liberation.
"OMG, what do you care what Mary Jane Watson in Spider-Man 2 looks like? Shut up, you're a porn-brained incel."
"You have pronouns and pride flags in your twitter bio and your likes are full of futa, why are you such a queer puritanist?"

Get the Queer Puritanist mug.Someone who detests the alteration of authored works, regardless of the reasoning. An individual with an inherent belief that the author's original intent should always be respected and preserved.
Amazon recently released a new Lord of the Ring series, which they heavily altered from Tolkein's work to make it representative of 'modern' audiences, as a literary puritan, Tolkein would be turning in his grave.

Get the Literary Puritan mug.A form of intellectual and moral purity culture that emerges within ivory tower environments, characterized by the relentless policing of thoughts, words, and frameworks for any deviation from orthodox standards. Ivory puritanism demands perfect adherence to current disciplinary consensus, treats theoretical impurity as moral failing, and engages in public rituals of condemnation and excommunication for those who transgress. Like religious puritanism, it's obsessed with boundaries—who's in, who's out, who's pure, who's contaminated. Unlike genuine intellectual rigor, which engages ideas on their merits, ivory puritanism polices identity and affiliation, treating wrong ideas not as mistakes to correct but as sins to punish.
Example: "The open letter condemned him for using the wrong terminology—not because his argument was wrong, but because his words weren't pure enough. Ivory Puritanism: policing language as if it were salvation."

Get the Ivory Puritanism mug.A culture of purity within scientific communities where methodological orthodoxy becomes the measure of virtue—treating deviations from accepted methods not as alternative approaches to be evaluated but as moral failings to be condemned. Scientific puritanism insists that there is one right way to do science, that any departure from this way is not just mistaken but corrupt, and that those who deviate must be exposed, condemned, and excluded. It's the peer reviewer who doesn't just reject a paper but impugns the authors' character; the methodologist who treats qualitative research as not just different but immoral; the discipline that polices its boundaries through rituals of shame and exclusion. Scientific puritanism mistakes methodological preferences for moral absolutes.
Example: "The qualitative study was rejected not on its merits but because it 'wasn't real science'—Scientific Puritanism, treating methodological difference as moral failing."

Get the Scientific Puritanism mug.A fusion of scientism (the belief that science is the only legitimate path to knowledge) with puritanical purity culture—resulting in a worldview where scientific orthodoxy becomes the sole measure of virtue, and any departure from it is not just wrong but wicked. Scientistic puritanism demands that all knowledge claims be validated through approved scientific methods, treats alternative ways of knowing as not just mistaken but sinful, and engages in relentless crusades against the unbelievers. It's the new atheist who treats religious belief as cognitive pathology; the skeptic who thinks believers deserve contempt rather than engagement; the rationalist who sees irrationality as the root of all evil. Scientistic puritanism turns methodological naturalism into a religion, with scientists as its priests and skeptics as its inquisitors.
Example: "He didn't just disagree with her spiritual beliefs—he treated them as a moral failure, a sign of insufficient rationality. Scientistic Puritanism: making science the measure not just of truth but of virtue."
