Fake geeks can be girls or boys, although most think it's girls only. It's mostly boys, believe it or not. Fake geeks pretend to be huge fans of Doctor Who, Supernatural, Sherlock, Homestuck, Merlin, and lots of other fandoms. They also pretend to have a lot of ships, and an unrealistically popular tumblr blog. They can be seen wearing fake glasses and wearing merchandise for shows they don't watch.

Jack: I watch BBC Sherlock and Doctor Who all the time!
Alice: Really?! Didn't you like that new Doctor Who episode that played last night?! My OTP Destiel became canon!!!
Jack: I know! I was so happy!
Alice: (thinking) Honestly. What a fake geek.

Fake-ass Fan

Someone who claims to be a big fan of a certain band, has a shitload of the band's merchandise(hats,tees, braclets neckties), yet in reality, this person only knows a few of the bands actual songs, usually greatest hits. Bands which are the targets of fake-ass fans are usually old rock bands like AC/DC,Led Zeppelin,The Doors,KISS and The Ramones. But this can be consistant with any kind of musical artist. Excessive owning of such merchandise can also mean a weak attempt to look "cool" or "hardcore"

Jimmy had pretty much every single bit of KISS merchandise, everything from toothpaste to socks to braces. But when asked to list some of his favorite songs of theirs he could only think of two of their songs,"Rock and roll all night" and "Strutter". He was a fake-ass fan.

fake it till you make it

1) Pretending to be something you are not, in hopes of fitting in, joining a group, or getting a job. ie: depicting wealth by wearing expensive clothes, shoes, handbags or driving fancy cars. Pretentious.

2) Using high vocab words so you can appear smart, in attempt to trick people into thinking you are educated..

Friend: "How do you expect to fit in with your boyfriends rich educated friends when you have a 10th grade education and make $5 an hour at WalMart".

Girl: "I've been reading the Dictionary to increase my vocabulary, bought some new designer clothes, a Louie Vuitton bag. You know, fake it till you make it!"

You know the ones- wear designer rags, smoke roll ups to make themselves seem proletarian, bang on about George Orwell while sneering at the people they want so hard to be like, the "commoners" due to romantic delusions of hardship.

meanwhile the students from the lower orders are busy and quietly working hard to make sure they don't stay in poverty.

fake pot head

Someone who openly admits to having an addiction to Marijuana, and may even smoke Marijuana in social situations, yet does not smoke to the point of an addiction. This is usually a practice of adolesents who wish to fit-in with a group of people who are pot heads yet they do not wish to actually practise smoking pot frequently, and thusly lies about the cercumstances under which they use Marijuana.
