Similar to other long time metal bands like Metallica and Slayer, Maiden's albums during the early to mid 1980s are usually said to be their best. Best noted for his unique voice and wide vocal range, Bruce Dickinson has been the main singer for most of the band's existence. The name Iron Maiden comes from a execution device involving spikes.
