A term commonly misused to describe an American actress/model/singer such as Miley Cyrus or Hilary Duff who 'writes her own songs'.

Proper usage would be an educated individual who makes his/her living by writing both or either the music and lyrics for songs.

I love being a songwriter. Although I haven't actually written a whole song yet. (Hilary Duff)

Songer

Non-album purist; someone who listens to entire albums instead of just a few songs here and there. Also songist. Opposite of albumer or albumist.

iTunes caters far more to songers than albumists.

Songsmith

Verb:
1. To rape someone's mind with terrible, synthetic music.
2. To write bad music.

Noun:
1. A moron with awful taste.
2. Someone you shouldn't be friends with.

Example of verb:
"Hey guys, I wanna songsmith you with this N*Sync remix I just made!!!"

Example of noun:
"That emo kid who enjoys My Chemical Romance is such a songsmith."

songticipation

The feeling of anticipation that you get for a certain song to play after hearing another song, due to past experience of hearing the the same songs in a specific order, perhaps from the original CD release, a personal playlist, etc.

You have a personal playlist that contains Hurt followed by Master of Puppets. You experience a situation where you hear the song Hurt. Hurt ends. You may get a strong sense of anticipation to hear Master of Puppets. That sense of anticipation is "songticipation".
