An extra cell phone or --in the case of military personnel--a beret or other headgear--can to be used in a similar fashion.

I lost a ton of aluminum, stainless steel, (Tommy) copper, and almost lost the keys to the city as far as that is conerned. It was just materials. That's it and that all. Silver keys tone scraps in all shapes and sizes are recycled all the time. I paid my rent with the scap metal I recycled. I am so grateful for this damned silver key and the ability to crack a beer with it.
