In short, The South is a distinct region of the United States which consists of the same states that seceeded from the union in the pre-civil war era. If you don't know them by now, then you'll never know them. The South is growing at a more than moderate rate and is a lot more diversified than it used to be. The South is the epitomy of amiability but also maintains a great sense of pride. If someone outside of The South "disses" it, a severe ass-whippin can occur.

some idiot: You talk country.
me: What? You don't like my Southern drawl?
idiot: No. You sounded like a dumbass hick during the presentation.
me: I'm from The South, bitch. Plus, I'll be getting my Doctorate while you'll still be hunting for your Master's.
idiot: I don't care.

South Parkism

A group created by two teenagers who loved South Park enough to start a "religion" about it. It is not a religion yet due to having under 100 members but continues to grow. Created on April 12 2007, the group currently has about 30 memebrs as of 4/1/08. South Parkism has a website (www.freewebs.com/southparkism) where people can read about its origin, cerimonias, holidays, and other facts about the group. South Parkism can be found through myspace as well as facebook, fanfiction, and deviantart. They also have a blog where the creators write about events and news in a style similar to the production blog on South Park Studios.

upper South

Well contrary to that definiton above me the Upper South is an unoffical region of the United States. It's a region that while it is Southern is Southern to a less degree than the Deep South. The states that automatically come to one's mind are Tennessee, Kentucky, and Virginia. I few pending states are North Carolina (might be too Southern), West Virginia, and Maryland. This region usually refered to as the Mid-South. During a major survey called to Southern focus survey to see the percentage of residence in the Southern states that identify with the South, the Deep South had over 90% (which also included North Carolina and Tennesee) of their residence's identifing with the South Kentucky and Virginia had 86% of their residences identifing with the South. Maryland on the other hand had less than have of their residence identifing with the South. The city's that define this region are Memphis, Louisville, Nashville, Richmond, Virginia Beach,

The point I'm trying to make is that some people like Kentucky yank and all the other pro Northern peopleish (could just be one person) are very misleading when it comes to Kentucky. They are so quick to name Kentucky as Midwestern, when it's the complete opposite from places like Minnesota and Wisconsin. I mean honestly calling those states Kentucky's sister states over ALabama or North Carolina is completely historically inaccurate. Kentucky is purely a Upper South State identical to Tennesse and Virginia, not no damn Ohio, or Indiana honestly give me a break those yankees states have nothing to do with Kentucky, aside from Southern Indiana being apart of the Louisville Metro area.

2) A person that lives in the South. Most of them are friendly, good-humored, and overall: AWESOME! Southerners, being a general term, know the difference between a good ol' boy,a redneck, a hillbilly, and po' white trash. YES, PEOPLE! THERE ARE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THEM!

South Boston, VA

A small town in the middle of no where that does not welcome everyone as they claim to. If you are not from here you are an outsider.

They are some of the poorest people I have ever seen; some live without running water or electricity. So don't let anyone tell you there isn't poverty or extreme wealth, b/c I've seen that too.

If you aren't from South Boston, VA, then don't bother. I wish I never did and now I am stuck!
