hoop-law

silliness, absurdity, craziness, folly, foolishness, goofiness, inanity and/or inconsistency of an act; When something or someone is being very silly or out of the norm.

The gas prices just went up another dollar, and Bush was recently seen circling the White House in a large bunny suit. Now This, is a bunch of hoop-law.

The Scopes Law

The term was coined by Gaming Steve Message Board member Logan Felipe in a thread discussing evolution*. The law is named after "the State of Tennessee v. John Thomas Scopes", a court case that provides a well documented, real world example of the law in action. The law's creation was also partially inspired by Godwin's Law.

The Scopes Law states: "When discussing evolution in the presence of a creationist, the discussion always becomes a religious debate".

Coomers Law

If you masturbate in an unlocked room, someone is bound to enter.

Person 1: Dude I just jacked in the utility closet, that NO ONE ever enters, but as soon as I started spanking it my boss walked in looking for something. Long story short, I lost my job.

Person 2: Dude, have you never heard of Coomers law? As soon as you started jacking someone was bound to enter.

Vegan Law

Similar to Godwin's Law - in that most vegans assume they are better than non-vegans just because they are vegan. Sadly, turns out to be false in the vast majority of cases.

She invoked vegan law on me - she assumed she was better than me because she doesn't use animal products.
