It's usually dubbed by American companies. Anime is very different from American animation. It is detailed artistically, and has very good plots. Unappreciative people complain about the dubs.

Someone who only likes anime or manga characters, most commonly because real people treat them like garbage, causing them to not be attracted to real people like most are. Many people tend to use this as a joke or think that it's not real, but there are really people that only like these 2-D characters. In Japan you can actually marry these characters and the most well known instance of this is the man that married Hatsune Miku.
