James LaBrie is the extremely talented vocalist for the band Dream Theater. Born May 5th, 1963 as Kevin James LaBrie, he was raised in Penetanguishene, Ontario, Canada. He took up the drums at age 5, but later gave that up in order to pursue singing more fully. At age 21, he began vocal training with the renowned vocal coach Rosemary Patricia Burns, who remained his coach for many years.
He has also pursued several other projects, including the Canadian glam rock band Winter Rose, which was popular all around Toronto in the late 1980s. After Dream Theater fired thier former vocalist, Charlie Dominici (who performed on DT's first album "When Dream and Day Unite" - 1989) they hired LaBrie, using his middle name as a stage name to differentiate between Kevin Moore who was the keyboardist in the band when he joined.
James has also appeared on releases by Fates Warning and Shadow Gallery, Trent Gardner's Explorer's Club and Leonardo the Absolute Man, as well as tribute albums to Rush, Emerson Lake and Palmer, and Queen. In 1999, James completed and released the first MullMuzzler album, "Keep it to Yourself" to much critical acclaim. "The followup, James LaBrie's MullMuzzler 2", was released in 2001. James also contributed his vocal talents as a major character on Ayreon's 2004 rock opera, "The Human Equation." His newest record "Elements of Persuasion" was released in 2005.

Get the The James Deenmug. A slang term used to define people of great social wealth, class, popularity, and overall greatness. If you are called a James Nielssen it is a HUGE compliment and you will want to remember that forever. They are commonly know so socialize with people called "erk"s, who are also very dominant around the socialogical "watering hole". If a person is called this, they are usually great at everything to do, and you have yet to find one bad thing about them. They are compared to God in many political and social debates, and have almost been banned by the U.N because too many people were committing suicide, due to the fact that they knew they could never be a James Nielssen.
Erk: Wow, this guy is great, i guess ill call him James Nielssen.
Derek: Thats a great idea! He must be perfect in every way.
Jacob: Obviously.

Get the James Nielssenmug. The magnificently sexy protagonist of 'Silent Hill 2', a popular survival horror game for the Playstation 2 console. He is drawn to the cursed town because of a letter sent to him by his wife. His dead wife. Ooooo. He also jumps down a lot of holes, and does a great impression of leatherface.

Get the James LaBriemug. It's a movie cliche. The original saying (to the coach driver) was supposedly "Home, James, and don't spare the horses!" (The movie one allegedly goes, "Once around the park and home, James"--said to the chauffeur.)
Dates from the mid-1800s; there was also a 1934 song with the same phrase as a title: "Home, James, and don't spare the horses" by Fred Hillebrand.
From "Dictionary of Catch Phrases: American and British from the Sixteenth Century to the Present Day" by Eric Partridge, updated and edited by Paul Beal, Scarborough House, Lanham, Md., 1992) in www.phrases.org.uk/bulletin_board/24/messages/392.html; also, www.saidwhat.co.uk/quotes/favourite/fred_hillebrand/home_james_and_dont_spare_the_3923

The British show "Inspector Lewis" (or just "Lewis") references this saying. DI Robbie Lewis had just met DS James Hathaway, who has come to pick him up from the airport; as they prepare to leave, Lewis says, "'Home, James!' I've always wanted to say that." (The comma should be there; it's "Home, James," not "Home James".)
Lewis says it again at the end of the first episode of the third season. As he and DS Hathaway are preparing to leave, with Hathaway driving, he says, "Home, James!"
