A burning hot skillet when you take it off the gas stove, and throw it into a sink full of water. It works best with a bit of grease.
Miller: “Shucks, Dan. This sun’s got mah’ skin feelin’ mighty crispy. Y’all got any lotion ‘round these parts?”
Dan: “Don’t need no lotion, ‘cauze I got the good ol’ redneck humidifier heatin’ up on the stove.”

The term redneck originated with farmers in mostly American southern states. Spending a lot of time in the sun turns your neck red from sunburn. But, in the part of the south I live (Tennessee) in the only people that will refer to themselves as rednecks live in a trailer park. To them it signifies being country, down to earth and enjoying simple pleasures. But, you would only call a friend a redneck just like if your not a dark skinned homo-sapien and say nigga to a "black" person you don't know.
Redneck is a derogatory and racist term chiefly but not exclusively applied to white Americans perceived to be crass and unsophisticated, closely associated with rural whites of the Southern United States. Its usage is similar in meaning to cracker, hillbilly, and white trash.
I say dark skinned homo-sapien instead of black because race is a social construct invented by a German scientist Johan Friedrich Blumenbach in 1776. According to Blumenbach Caucasians included the Caucus Mountains and surrounding areas of East Europe, West Asia (as far east as the Ganges Delta), AND NORTH AFRICA. The US v. Bhagat Singh Thind (1923) shows this. It is often used as a psychological weapon of mass destruction to divide us a people. Take me for example I am not racially white. Though ethnically my background would be European-American (Spanish and Scottish mostly)/ Native American (very small amount).

Young man over 40, often in a creative occupation trying to balance a de facto urban life with a traditional rural idea of manhood. Recognized through use of carefully selected colour coordinated workwear, completely out of context. Rural desire often expressed in a irrational fixation on treated cotton fabrics, fishing and/hunting.
