There are several meanings.
1) A Centaur in Greek Mythology
2) The name of a planetoid discovered in 1977.
3) A small secret society of which very little is known, possibly originating within the medical profession.

2) Chiron was considered to be a great healer.
3) A special invitation is required to join Chiron.
