Hot Topic

A store located in the mall that used to be cool until about two years ago, when the ditzy preps got lost on their way to Old Navy. Some idiots that like to spread rumors say that Hot Topic is affiliated with The GAP. Of course, seeing as how there is no proof of this what-so-ever, if you confront this idea to any employees at either Hot Topic or The GAP, they will be baffled at your assumption.

Not everyone who shops at Hot Topic is a poser. Some of us just shop there to get stuff from the bands we like, such as Sublime, ICP, Deftones, etc. Or just to get Faygo 'cuz that's the only place around here the sells it.

Prep: Like, oh. My. God. My boyfriend would love this chain! My boyfriend is SUCH a tough guy, especially since he started shopping at Hot Topic! And his hair is spiked!

Me: Liberty spikes?

Prep: Like, no, silly! Like...Gelled up!

Me: Can he play the air guitar?

Prep: No, but he can play girls like no tomorrow!!!! Teehee.

hot topic

Just a store. Some people go there in the idea that theyre being rebellious. But they're not. Hot Topic sells a variety of band shirts, shirts with jokes, etc. They also sell funny buttons or bumber stickers. In addition they sell jewelry (not all got or punk or emo!), family guy merchandise, and anime stuff...Mostly inuyasha or fma.

Wow. This pink shirt with al on it is soo cute!

I love this sticker with Stewie on it saying delightfully white trash.

DUDE! *emo tear* i couldnt go to hot topic but i did anyways because im soo emo/skater/punk/rebel/electrikk/goth/scene and bought really huge black pants.

hot topic

a store that sells merchandise which teenagers use to make them feel like theyre "punk" or "goth" and alternative. they think it is the anti-abercrombie, when in fact A&F and hot topic are both multimillion dollar chain stores with overpriced clothing. there is nothing alternative or punk or goth about hot topic, its just another store. so dont think that if you shop there you will become different, because it's in the same boast as A&F, only less slutty.

"i went to hot topic today! look at the clothes i got! theyre kind of a goth/punk theme! now i will pretend to be depressed while cutting myself!"

Hot Topic

It's just a store that sells clothes to teenagers.
- Yes, some of the items are overpriced
- They actually do have some good band t-shirts
- It does NOT make you "emo" if you shop there

Abercrombie, American Eagle, Hot topic, their all just stores, it doesn't make you a prep if you shop at abercrombie or a emo if you shop at hot topic

A punk/goth (whatever you want it to be) store that has sold out with rap, country, pop. Oh and can't forget the posers.

A store that in its heyday ('90s-'10s) had mass appeal to faggoths, "edgy" skater kids, pop punkers and other strumous tenderlings. Common items sold there in this period included ridiculous kinky parachute pants, useless Happy Bunny accessories, CDs by Korn, HIM, Avril Lavigne and shirts displaying unfunny "ironic" slogans and overplayed pop culture references. With the decline of mallgoth fad the store renovated its image to appeal to "scene" bandwagon jumpers, replacing dominatrix pants with ball-splitting skinny jeans, nu metal CDs with screechy metalcore and endless HIM paraphernalia with neon-gore t-shirts of "scene" bands like Bring Me the Horizon and Blood on the Dance Floor. With its continuing declining sales, Hot Topic has also tried to appeal to a more "preppy" crowd by peddling worthless Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj merch. The store's bankruptcy is becoming increasingly imminent, with the "scene" trend going out of style, replaced by swaggotry, a fad already catered to by Zumiez that Hot Topic could never pull off due to its "goffik" roots. The other prominent youth trend of the '10s, hipsterdom, is one Hot Topic could never take advantage of as no hipster would ever shop at such a "mnstrm" outlet (they prefer American Eagle). And old Hot Topic shoppers are butthurt they no longer have a place to pick up edgy BDSM getups, heartagram dildos and Happy Bunny thongs. Looks like an appropriately dark future for Hot Topic...

um.....its a store. a store that sells overpriced stuff just like neother mall store does. u dont have to be goth or rebellious to shop there. just like u dont have to be a posing bitch to shop at norstroms.
