When people start a chat on facebook about random information. This never turns into an actual conversation, but rather short thoughts that have no defined topic. It is very annoying to the person that didn't start the chat and yet can not leave the chat for some reason. And it tends to last for a while. If you end the chat, it usually starts back the next time you are online. (can also occur outside of facebook chats and in person)

Example Jake Chatting Conversation:

Sally: "Did you see the movie Due Date?"

Tom: "I hear it is the shit."

Sally: "Guess what, mackenzie and billy broke up last night."

Tom: "About damn time."

Sally: "so Alabama lost"

Tom: "yeah, i heard. i mean, we were at the game together"

Sally: ( ̲̅:̲̅:̲̅:̲̲̅̅ ̲̲̅̅:̲̅:̲̅:̲̅) <------ look its a bandaid

When a person whilst texting/IMing begins to misspell ever other word and talks in incoherent speak that makes them appear to be drunk by others; the technological form of slurred speech

Peter: Dude, what the hell was wrong with you last night? I couldn't understand a word of your text. You were all like drunken chatting.
Bob: I was really tried and finishing off my last beer.
Peter: That explains it.
