This technique is particularly popular with teenagers and bloggers. Not all wikisearchers are open about their activities when using the information so obtained.

Wikiroll

A trance-like state where the user moves uncontrollably from link to link to link to link on Wikipedia, absorbing new pages. The roll often ends suddenly, halfway down a page about Japanese funeral rituals. The user will emerge dazed, confused, but considerably more informed.

"Dude, where you been? Your eyes are all bloodshot and your finger looks swollen. Were you on Wikipedia again?"

"I didn't mean to wikiroll! I just wanted to know if Barack Obama was from Kenya, and I woke up reading about stained glass techniques in Renaissance churches. Why does this always happen to me?"
