Nearicle on Ice

A term used to describe a close 2nd place finish. Also used to describe an event which doesn't live up to the hype or hopes of the media.

Named for the 2010 U.S. Olympic Hockey team's silver medal finish a the Winter Olympics. The match-up was commonly compared and hyped as the next Miracle on Ice but fell just short of Gold as the U.S. lost to Canada in overtime.

Ice Facial

While consuming a beverage, a clump of ice cubes crash into your face all at once. Usually happens after most of the liquid is gone, as the ice appears to be stable, yet the slightest change in angle blows a frozen load all over you.

In reaching the last of my iced tea, I tilted the glass too much and promptly received an ice facial.

Ice Beam

A very useful weapon in Metroid. It allows you to temporarily freeze enemies. Although no damage is done to the enemy, another shot to un-freeze will cause damage. A must-have weapon once you get to Tourian.

With enough skill, the Ice Beam can be used to freeze Rippers or other enemies to form a stepping stone to reach places you normally couldn't get to.

ice fox

A stone-cold hottie whose immense and overwhelming beauty seems to stem from another realm. Most often found at festivals and shows, the ice fox is usually seen wearing whatever hippie garb makes them look the foxiest. Their beauty will freeze an admirer/onlooker in their tracks immediately from 5 to 500 feet away.
