In referenced to superstar Joby Steve, Don't be a toby is a phrase is another way of complaing at someone who is being irritating, they say or do something stupid or are genuinely out of the conversation. Being called a Toby sometimes can lead to a loss in reputation and social status, referencing that the original Toby had a lack of any of above.
