The practice of driving around residential areas (usually between the hours of 12-5 am), pulling up beside cars parked on the side of the street, and checking to see if they have been locked. If not, the car is stripped of anything inside. If so, the thieves move on. Cranking can also involve petty vandalism, leaving of handbrake off in a robbed car etc etc.
This practice originated in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, and has spread throughout the state.

Get the caking mug.Chewing loudly with your mouth open. Usual offenders are people chewing gum, or those that have blocked sinuses who are unable to chew with their mouths closed. Name comes from the 'chanka-chanka-chanka' sound of someone doing this.

Get the Chanking mug.To walk around with crushed drinks cans on one's feet. This is achieved by laying an empty can on its side and treading on its centre so that it wraps around the foot.
More specifically (and often with a suffixed "it"), the word can be used to refer to travelling down skate ramps, half pipes etc using one's cans, as the smooth metal footwear provides an ideal surface for fast passage.
