A Britton is a highly advanced yet wildly inaccurate unit of distance measurement equal to about 75 miles… which is technically 71 miles… but for the sake of simplicity and road-trip morale, everyone rounds it up to 75.
The Britton was created for drivers who refuse to deal with inconvenient things like precise math, GPS estimates, or basic honesty about how far away something actually is. Instead of saying “It’s a 1,000-mile drive,” experienced travelers convert everything into Brittons, because distances sound far less intimidating when expressed in mysterious units nobody fully understands.
The official abbreviation is BFK.
