Shadow DJ

A type of dance move where you imitate a DJ unironically. You feel the music deeply and you let the knees and hips go crazy.

It’s essentially the dance version of shadow boxing - replace the boxer with a DJ.

Person 1: Fuck! That’s a killer dance move, never seen it done so naturally - what’s it called?

Person 2: Just the Shadow DJ mate, my mum named it.

When counting a rest playing a percussion instrument, you motion the stick or mallet you are wielding like you played the beat the rest is on but you don't really play.

I did a stick shadow on the eight rest in my solo.

Shadow Realmed

To be utterly destroyed, obliterated, or defeated beyond recovery. When something is so completely wrecked that it might as well have been banished to another dimension.

Often used humorously or dramatically to describe situations where someone or something gets taken down in an over-the-top way.

"Dude, I was just trying to play casually, but he Shadow Realmed me with that 10-hit combo."
"My phone fell off the balcony and landed face-down on concrete. It's completely Shadow Realmed."
"We tried to argue with the boss, but she Shadow Realmed us with a 30-minute PowerPoint."

Shadow Shopper

A friend who follows you around whilst shopping, potentially because they have no sense of personal style or space. Highly annoying. When you ask their opinion they will often say what they think you want to hear, rather than their genuine belief, lest it be 'wrong'.
