ok..its time for a neutral definition of Islam on here because attacking other religions when you don't truly understand their teachings is a bit childish, dontcha think? :)
1. islam tells women to do is to be obedient to their husbands and husbands have to be respectful and considerate towards their wives. most people don't follow this rule but that is just that has NOTHING to do with islam. most people think that the quran says 'its ok to hit women' it doesnt say that anywhere. different people have different interpretation of the same script. My interpretation doesn’t say anything like that
2. jihad is only allowed in islam if someone starts a war against your religion
3. in islam, you cant force people to do things they dont want to do.
4. fasting in islam (or going hungry from sunrise to sunset) is done to feel the pain of the poor. we also have to give out money to the poor and helpless every year to help them out. fasting is not useless, it teaches one patience and considerateness
5. people get angry and offended when someone makes fun of them and they have different ways of handling their anger. likewise, muslims do get offended when someone makes fun of their religion. i am not saying its ok for people to go around killing each other when they're offended but i am also not saying its ok for people to constantly put people down just because their religious views differ from yours. harassing people is just going to fuel unnecessary arguments.

Black Islam (also known as Farrakhanism for its current leader or Nation of Islam) was founded by Wallace Fard Muhammad in response to whites' racism. It is not true Islam, and takes its beliefs from Christianity and Islam and Elijah's personal beliefs (not to be unfair, but it's true). It holds that the Bible and the Qu'ran are equal in authority and teaches that blacks must do anything to get back at the white man for revenge. It gained a pretty large following, but I think membership has declined since its birth, I'm not too sure. Some members were quite active in politics, e.g. Malcolm X (he changed his name from his "slave name" Malcolm Little). However, after Malcolm was true to his faith and took his hajj to Mecca, he came back a changed man. There he had learned true Islam and converted to Muhammad's (pbuh) preached religion, as well as bringing Muhammad Ali} with him. Malcolm X changed his name to El-Hajj Malik Al-Shabazz and quit the Nation of Islam, for which he was later assassinated, some believe (the assassination; he definitely became a Sunni Muslim).
Anyway, one of Wallace's disciples, Elijah Poole (who later became Elijah Muhammad) started to preach that Wallace Fard was the Messiah, and God in person form (like Christians' view of Jesus).

Black Islam is a religious as well as socio-political organization to improve the welfare of African Americans. It has been called sexist, homophobic, and racist, but also has been praised as helpful to black businesses and for improving inner city neighborhoods.

Get the Staten Island mug.long island is an island off the coast of new york, it has beaches, farms, malls, and transportation to places such as new york city. the island is often said to be shaped like a fish.there are a wide variety of places in long island that reflect the different cultures, groups and signs of affluence scattered towards the island. the island is divided into two counties, nassau and suffolk county.nassau county is the more developed and populated county.there are two parts to the county, the northshore and the southshore. the north shore of nassau county is filled with rocky beaches and affluent neighborhoods. the towns around this area are often coastal and not so built up, the houses are also often large and more traditional than those found on the south shore. the south shore of long island is the more built up part of the island. most of the towns in the area are more middle class and more of a traditional suburbia setting. many of the houses are newer developments and they are more similar to eachother. the south shore has a large variety of shopping centers and a larger population. some of the more affluent areas of the south shore include garden city and rockville centres. some of the more popular destinations include the barrier islands just off the coast such as long beach and jones beach. beaches such as these have smooth sand and often popular boardwalks. the next county is suffolk county, which is larger than nassau county in area. suffolk county has a large variety of neighborhoods from the industrial areas of smithtown to the smaller towns of quogue. suffolk county is more of what traditional long island is. there are many farms, beaches and small towns in suffolk county, which make it a popular tourist destination. suffolk county also has more popular tourist destinations such as the hamptons and montauk point. both of these areas contain beaches and attractions which make them desireable for summer homes. the hamptons are the main attraction of this part of the island, attracting many people a year, many come for the lazy summer days and the partying at night. outlet stores in places such as riverhead and vineyards in the north eastern part of sufflok county also attract visitors. long island is truely a unique destination that could only be understood by the locals.
