A voluntary or involuntary diet started due to the difficulty of travelling to stores to buy groceries during periods of heavy snow. Made worse by laziness and lack of preparation. Most often seen in penny pinching states sacrificing preparation for snow to save money, such as the UK, much to the disappointment of the public.
